From the day the pandemic closures were announced, Blugolds have worked to remove obstacles, adapt practices, and discover solutions to every conundrum and heartache that COVID-19 has presented.

The following stories demonstrate some of the ways Blugold faculty, staff, students and alumni have stepped up in bold and creative ways to work in and around a global health crisis. From community education outreach and vaccination efforts to a Fortune 500 company's management of pandemic impact, Blugolds are problem solvers and their ingenuity is showing!

One of only two FEMA funded vaccine sites in the state when announced, the addition of Zorn Arena as a mass vaccination site in the Eau Claire brought the ability to vaccinate thousands more area citizens in an efficient and safe manner.

Barron County vaccination site

The 6th state DHS-sponsored mass community vaccination site opened on April 20 on the UW-Eau Claire-Barron County campus in Rice Lake. The site will operate Tues-Saturdays, 11 a.m.- 7 p.m., and can administer 200-500 doses per day depending on supply.
